#WFC25Trust Matchday Celebrations

There was plenty of positivity as Watford took on West Ham at Vicarage Road on Sunday 19th November, and it wasn’t just the 2-0 win that brought the smiles for the home fans.

The Trust’s dedicated team of staff and volunteers were on hand to celebrate the 25th year anniversary of ‘Watford FC in the heart of the community’ in style with stalls, badges, selfie frames and a sneak peek at the Watford Museum exhibition.

Other highlights of the day included the reveal of the winning T-Shirt design, 11-year-old Codie Snaith’s ‘we are family’ T-Shirt was worn by Trust staff, volunteers and Harry the Hornet, not forgetting of course, the Watford FC 1st Team Squad! The T-Shirt is now available to purchase by emailing heritage@watfordfc.com with delivery in time for Christmas and all money raised going to the registered charity, Watford FC CSE Trust.

The dedicated matchday programme also gave fans an exclusive look at the commemorative 25th year anniversary book which will be made available to the Hornet’s season ticket holders next year.

The Trust were honoured to have Ann Swanson attend the game as special guest. The pioneering force behind the Family Enclosure and the Junior Hornets scheme, Ann was on hand to meet with fans and their families on a stall by the club shop. Originally planning to be there for an hour, Ann stayed nearer to an hour and a half as former Junior Hornets had the chance to reminisce on yesteryear. At Half-Time Ann returned to speak with Watford FC’s Tim Coombs about her time at the Club working with Graham Taylor and Sir Elton John, as well as picking the day’s 50/50 raffle winners.

Lastly and by no means least, the Trust were also raising money for their future work in the local community and are pleased to announce thanks to the support of fans, they raised a total of £571
